WHY WE CHOOSE TO WORK THIS WAY
If we lowered our prices, we could probably take more clients and maybe even make more sales, but that’s not really what I want.
Haircutting is heavily affected by time, and once the schedule gets too tight, every stylist knows what starts to happen: the sections get bigger, the slicing becomes less precise, and the texturizing gets rougher.
Our clients choose our salon because they expect our best work, and if we lowered our prices and started taking many more people, it would become harder to give each client that same level of attention.
I also have a very clear idea of the kind of stylist I want my team to become. I don’t want their value to come from constantly pushing packages, extra treatments or retail products. I want the value to come from their work.
I want a stylist to be able to create the same level of sales with 50 clients that another stylist might need 100 clients to create. It’s not about just charging more, we have to become stylists whose work is actually worth that price.
I don’t want our stylists to build their careers by seeing more and more clients every day. I want them to be able to focus properly on each person and keep getting better at what they do.
That’s why we choose to work this way.
